Great Plains and Quickbooks Enterprise: Making the Switch
Companies have various reasons for switching from Quickbooks Enterprise to Dynamics GP (a.k.a. Great Plains)
Before you decide to make the big leap, here are some things to consider:
- Great Plains is more expensive and more difficult to maintain than Quickbooks Enterprise. The annual maintenance fees are thousands of dollars.
- It takes longer to implement Great Plains
- The learning curve for Great Plains is substantially longer
Although I have used both Great Plains and Quickbooks Enterprise extensively, I prefer Quickbooks Enterprise. It has all of the essential features of an accounting software package. It even has customizable user permissions, which is a must for any accountant or CPA. Overall, it’s a great solution for small to medium-sized businesses.
If a company needs any additional features for Quickbooks Enterprise, they can review the third party add-ons that are featured on Intuit Marketplace.
